After the welcome day, on Sunday 24 of June we had breakfast at O’Seculo and stayed there for the presentation of the schedule for the following days. This way, we defined on the tasks and responsibilities as volunteers and we had the time to express our fears, expectations and possible contributions regarding the work camp. In order to do so, we all participated in several dinamic activities that helped us to get to know each other better and even find some similarities between us.
Afterwards, we had lunch in O’Seculo together and took the train to Cascais. We found it a really pleasant journey not just because it barely takes 10 minutes and it goes all alone the coastline, but because the Cascais municipality provided us with free transport to their European Youth Capital. It was our first time there and we were eager to discover the place, so there was no better way for that than doing a gymkhana all around the city. The different tasks of the gymkhana allowed us to discover amazing places and people and even to taste the typical Nata. At the end, we all met at Rota Jovem center and enjoyed and improvised Jamm session with a couple of guitars.
Despite the long walk through Cascais left us hungry, we were all invited for dinner by all those who made this work camp possible. There realised who many people were supporting our work and had the chance to learn more about the youth initiatives promoted by Cascais. After the dinner, which took place in one of the city's museum, a bus (a guagua for some) took us back to O’Seculo.
